A NEW CHAPTER IN THE SHOWBAND SOUND

The New Indians Showband are bringing Irish showband music to today’s audiences. Led by singer and entertainer Chrissy Mac, the five-piece band perform a vibrant mix of Irish country, showband favourites and rock ’n’ roll, shaped for dancing.

Their live programme draws on the golden age of the dance hall while keeping the pace and feel of a contemporary show. Familiar favourites sit alongside medleys, waltzes, jives and big singalong moments. The band move easily between a theatre stage, a festival crowd and a packed hotel ballroom, and involve audiences throughout, whether the room is seated, standing or dancing along together.

The group’s story gathered momentum in 2026. Following their first public dance in Castleblayney, the band made a sold-out theatre debut in Naas in July. Performances that year included Féile Thrá Lí in Tralee, the Gleneagle Hotel in Killarney and a sold-out night at the Great Northern Hotel in Bundoran. Those dates helped establish a live reputation built on energy, connection and the kind of songs audiences know by heart.

In September 2026, The New Indians Showband released ‘Dance Hall Days,’ written by Terry McGinty. The song looks back on Ireland’s dance halls, the showbands that filled them and the memories people still carry. It is a natural fit for a band whose live set celebrates that heritage while making space for new music.

What sets The New Indians apart is the range of the evening: country dancing, nostalgic showband sounds and rock ’n’ roll delivered as one continuous, crowd-focused performance. With Chrissy Mac at the front and a full live band behind him, they turn familiar songs into a shared experience for dancers, listeners and families alike.

Their aim is simple: send the crowd home with sore feet, favourite tunes in their heads and another night to remember.
